Food for Thought

a collection of interactive and intellectual learning spaces on food offering a workout for the mind and the senses

Food is at the center of being human. It powers the body, fuels the mind and comforts the soul. We have been doing food and talking about food for ages. These conversations have been held in place by the common rituals, traditions and even seasons. As we did away with the rituals , we inadvertently disposed of stories and practices that contributed to the shared understanding of food and the role it played. Never before has the topic of food been so polarised, controversial and touchy. Yet, never before it has been so defining for our personal and social wellbeing.

Food for Thought is an interactive, educational space designed to share, learn and debate food. It offers a workout for the mind and the senses leaving participants’ appetites and curiosities satisfied.

TALK TO MI

Bee Wilson:

“We are the first generation to be hunted by what we eat.

Since the birth of farming

ten thousand years ago, most humans haven’t been hunters,

but never before have we been so insistently pursued by our own food supply.”
